You must first and foremost identify your area of passion before you select or engage in a particular profession. Education should be a source of skills acquisition to enhance your talents/ability(ies) that way you achieve tremendous results because you create a proffession out of your hobby. However, the best course or programe for a business manager or entrepreneur will be a management related degree because of its versatility.

A real entrepreneur will make the most any major. It really doesn’t matter what you study as long as you are not wasting your brain matter on classes that don’t move you toward your goals.

My suggestion, take classes in Public Speaking, Accounting, Organizational Behavior, Sales Training, Management Skills, Interpersonal Skills

Yes, business management is good. I’d also recommend a 2 year associate degree in Marketing, which will teach you the basics for being an entrepreneur.

ALSO educate yourself by checking out all sorts of business books at the library, talking to small business owners and crafters, and networking with everyone you can. Find out how to find suppliers, how to handle the legal side with licensing, where to apply with the Dept. of Revenue, wholesaling, the terms used for drop shipping, trade shows, and anything else you can think of. The more info you have, the easier it is to make decisions.

You can also search online under ‘marketing articles’ on google.com and get a ton of very useful information. I’d also recommend Entrepreneur Magazine and Inc. Magazine, both those are excellent.

Business management is definitely your best shot, because it pretty much teaches you every skill you need to know for any business-related career. I’m taking Business Administration right now and our core curriculum covers everything: finance, accounting, marketing, communications, business ethics, etc. Most importantly, being an entrepreneur means being your own boss, and Business management obviously teaches you those skills. What you can do is take some business elective courses when you get to your junior/senior year that focus on entrepreneurship and try to get an internship as early as possible. Best of luck!
