how do I improve my life?

leofresh1 asked:

I am going to be 28 years old, and I am ready to start my new career. I am catholic, but my wife and I do not attend church. I guess I still feel like a teenager, still like to party a lot, but I want to change my life and become a better person, and to make unlimited wealth, and to make a family. We are taking a very important trip in the next 2 weeks, and we come back, that is when we are going to make some big career moves. Should I involve church in my life? My wife and I do not practice any religion, but I was thinking about scientology? I guess what I am really asking for is strength to stop partying so much, discipline my self to work out everyday, and dedicate my life to my career move. Where do I get the discipline and strength? So that is when I ask myself if we need church in our lives, or what self motivation technique can I do, or is just really all up to me along with my heart and brain? Do I really need to have something else in my life? Thanks.

bruh, your 28, you already know what you need to do. you just said it in your post. dont go to a church just b/c you think its the right thing to do. go because you want a better relationship with the higher power. if you just do your best and stay disciplined, the higher power will notice and maybe help you out a little.

Best way to improve your life is to end it. However since you are Catholic doing so will send you to hell. But your disappointment is understandable, and you are not the first to desire more, that is why some of the best Catholic minds in history became gnostics. Scientology is simply reformed gnosticism [a cheap imitation], I would rather go for the original best.

Hummm big stuff going on. Partying if it does not involve something that makes you feel bad about yourself is a good thing. I think what humans need most to be good folks is courage, kindness and honesty.
Quiet your mind and rest in wild nature. I feel the only way to be a deeply good person is to think for yourself.
Religion is good, but you should be inspired in your heart. Try reading a variety of faiths and philosophy’s that interest you for fun. If it is fun, you will get more out of it.
Strength is just a measure or your collective health mentally and physically. Work on your life as a whole.
If partying means drugs(including alcohol)I suggest you quit, why not be yourself?
Work should be joy, dedicate your life to your loved ones and defining what work means to you. Worrying about money is fear, and no matter how rational, living in fear is its own hell.
Some books I enjoyed on these matters where, the Prophet, a fable by Kahlil Gibran, the Alchemist by Pablo Colho and the writings of Prentice Mulford.
Who I am I to say but yeah asked.

The cause of whatever condition your life is in now and will be in the future is YOU.
YOU already have the potential to create a flourishing and prosperous
life, in whatever games you choose to play. (family, career etc)
The problem is that the doubts and uncertainties you are experiencing
come from something that you have also created but are now unaware of and unable to control.
This aspect of you is what pushes and pulls you in directions that you do not want to go. They seem to be internal barriers to your true intentions.
The spiritual technology of Scientology was developed for the purpose of reversing this deterioration in you, and handling these internal barriers so that you can regain your native abilities and forfill your potential. This basically puts YOU back in the drivers seat, so you can get to where you want to go yourself .
The Churches and Missions of Scientology were established to deliver this spiritual technology in a safe and positive environment and are designed to help free individuals from their self created barriers and increase their knowledge and understanding of themselves and others which is a big part of the process.
Scientology is not a support system in the same way as other religious communities are.
Most Churches and Missions have a free introductory service that includes and detailed personality and IQ test, which is designd to show you what specifically is holding you back. This free service includes a full evaluation of the results. The personality test can be done via the mail or internet infact.
This will help you to understand specifically what it is about YOU that is holding you back in life, and what about you, you need to address to improve your life.

Just by asking the question shows that you are maturing. You are feeling the desire for God that is written in the human heart.

You are already a Catholic. I suggest you explore the religion you grew up with first. Start by praying for guidance. Go to your local church. Take a class to learn more. Or look at the ministries that your parish supports. Find one that touches your heart and join in to serve others.

Discipline, strength, and direction will follow.

Be careful about the unlimited wealth part of your plan.

    With love in Christ.

Whatever you do, do not go with scientology. Don’t. And remember, most times when we ask a question.. we already know the answer.

Forget that you are Catholic and simply get on your knees and ask Jesus Christ to come and live in your heart. Tell Him that you believe that He died for all of your sins (past, present and future) and are willing to give up everything for Him since you owe Him everything. In Jeremiah 29:11-13 He tells us that He has a plan for your life. Ask Him what that plan is and try to get in line with it. Give up YOUR plans if it does not line up with His because your plans won’t make any difference and will fail if the Lord does not support them.
